Capernaum, Jesus' Ministry Base

After the three dubious sites, we drove another few kms along the Sea nearly to its top and visited a site that is indisputable, at least in general terms – Capernaum. Capernaum is massively important in Jesus’ ministry. After his rejection in Nazareth, Jesus moved to Capernaum, likely settling in Peter’s family home (where he healed Peter’s mother-in-law) (Matt 4:13). He ministered there (e.g. Matt 8:5; Mark 1:21; 2:1; Luke 4:31). He went to and fro from there ministering.




The site is great. There is a church there, St Peters (right). 
















It is said to be sited above Peter's ancient home (left). This fits in the sense that it is right beside the Sea where a fisherman would ply his trade.



There is a lovely fourth century synagogue, a small portion of which is first century (right and below). 












Just down the road is the beautiful Orthodox Church. 
It is full of amazing art.

And surrounded by awesome trees.


I was powerfully moved as I walked beside the sea beside the church – was it here that Jesus called the first disciples? I again heard Jesus’ call – come follow me, and I will make you a fisher of people (right).







I said yes,and like those two monks above, I will follow. Will you?

I am so thankful alot story about Jesus in his time on the earth to save us and give healing to sick and be fild of the Holy Spirit to glory for God in healing and set us free again from worry and from obsatcles in Jesus name,thanks and bless,keijo sweden

Tribute to Stuart Lange

For anyone who is interested, I have attached my tribute to Rev Stuart Lange here. He is a legend! It was fun to roast him.... Evangelical Presbyterians’ Statement On Same Sex Marriage

I am involved in a group called Presbyterian Affirm. It is an evangelical group within the NZ Presbyterian Church which seeks to promote the gospel and the renewal of churches. A group of us under the leadership of Stuart Lange have worked to put together a statement on same-sex marriage.
